"Rachel does such a phenomenal job at making everyone feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera."

My passion is serving you and my camera is my tool

My story of becoming a Logan Utah Wedding Photographer

I learned many years ago that what a truly loved about photography wasn't clicking the camera, it was the relationships that my camera provided me. I love people. I love building friendships and serving others. My camera is the tool that allows me to do that!

I picked up a camera at age 16 and started recording my and my friends lives! I haven't stopped since! Now I get to do this as a job alongside taking care of my twin girls. I wish I could tell my 16 year old self I built my dream life!

01.

I got married at 29.

I felt like I was going to be single for-eva! Now I see that my single years were a gift to get to serve tons of brides and grooms, travel, spend time with family and friends and save money for my future! I met my husband because his sister and his uncle both told him to take me on a date!

02.

I was born in Alaska.

My dad went to college in Logan Ut and moved to Anchorage after he graduated. My mom grew up there and they met and got married! They had me before moving down to Montana where I grew up but I lived in Anchorage during summers in college and visit family in AK often!

03.

I have identical twin girls.

A phrase that will always be ringing in my ears is hearing the ultrasound tech say "Good news, there's two!" We found out at 10 weeks that it was two babies and my husband almost fell off his chair. We had to get a mini van much earlier than planned and we love our life with our toddlers!

04.

I'm really good at puzzles.

This might seem random but I love love puzzles. My husband knows that when I bring one out, dishes will have to wait until I finish. This is good news for you because my mind is always trying to figure out the best way to do things when it comes to photography too and it makes me efficient and smart behind the camera.

My family is everything

The only job I've loved more than being a photographer is being a mom to my twins. They are the best.

05.

I am the oldest of 5 kids.

Which means I bring a whole bunch of big sister energy. I-get-those-pictures-DONE on the wedding day!! But I do it with a nicer smile than for my siblings. I am an expert at organizing chaos all while bringing in the calm happy vibes.

My husband and I almost didn't go on a second date...

Here is a quick look into our story! His sister followed me on Instagram and tried to connect us. His uncle was my dad's college roommate and tried to connect us. Finally we went on a fishing blind date and had a good time... but we were both too shy to ask for a second date so it took 2 years until we reconnected and started dating! Phew!

07.

I grew up in small town Montana.

I grew up from childhood in Montana! I love the state of MT and the hobbies that took my family outside. We went camping, fishing, hunting and I love to do those things now with my daughters. I moved to Logan Utah to go to Utah State University and have lived here ever since!

08.

My favorite photography location is Tony Grove in Logan Canyon.

I've been all over the US taking pictures including Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska. But my favorite place to photograph is in my back yard! Want some pictures there?

What it's like being a twin mom!

I absolutely love love being a mom. It seems like I've been preparing for it for years and years. Heavenly Father must have known that I was feeling confident so he threw me a curve ball and included another baby with my delivery. I never imagined motherhood of twins but I had a few inklings early on, like my pants already didn't fit at 7 weeks pregnant.

My favorite part about photography is the connections

I can't tell you what I had for dinner last week but I can tell you random details and memories about couples weddings from the past near decade of photographing weddings. Like when Taylor and his sister Brooklyn both booked me months apart so I got to see the family twice in a row and how they had the best dance parties! I can't wait to add you to my collection of favorite people: my RB Brides and Grooms!

I had two goals for my wedding: I wanted a beautiful dress and wanted amazing photos. I got both things I wanted!! And an amazing husband of course.

For me the wedding planning journey was a fun happy time but I had sooo much to remember. It's helped me step in even more as a guide and friend to my brides because I know how overwhelming it can be. Let me be in charge of making sure your dress looks good, your family is all lined up, your hair is perfect so you can enjoy your dream day!

I have wanted to be a mom forever! I also want my babies to see their own faces and family on the walls. I've committed my husband to yearly family photos so that we can remember them at every age! And I want to look and feel good, no matter what stage my body is at.

I take all this to apply to your photos!I know how to help moms truly get the most out of the experience. I have guides to help you plan your outfits, tips and tricks to help the kiddos and a fast turn around time so you aren't waiting on pictures!

My own love story!

If you’ve been around me for longer than 2 seconds you KNOW I LOVE connections. Heavenly Father knows I love them too apparently. Here’s my love story!!

THE SET UP…2018

Stephanie, had messaged my good friend Kylee, about setting me up with her little brother. The younger brother’s name was Jordan.

I get told about blind dates about 5 times a month and they rarely ever happen.

Around that same time in 2018, my mom called me and told me that she had talked to my dad’s best friend from college who lives in Alaska. I guess he had a nephew living in Logan about my same age. He wanted to set me up on a date with him. His name was Jordan.

I thought it was a little bit hilarious that two people wanted to set me up with two different guys with the same name. Like what are the odds??

Well with some quick Facebook stalking I soon realized that it wasn’t two boys name Jordan, it was the SAME boy. I’ve known his uncle my whole life and I sorta knew his familiy because Stephanie and his mom owned the Sister Shop here in Logan that opened when the mission age changed for girls! I totally shopped there!

Wowza. How is that for connections?!

Photography is my expertise

I got my college degree in 2015 from Utah State University in Fine Art Photography. Now-a- days, you definitely don't need a college degree to figure out a camera but what is unique about me is my formal training. I was educated to look at photography through a fine art lens. While I am always extending my education to stay up with trends, marketing, and social media, you can rest assured that my degree not only sets my work apart but shows that this is my career and not a hobby!

I can't wait for the chance to work with you!
